The Bar Chart Shows The Annual Urban Growth Rates, On Average, in Different Regions in The World.
The bar chart demonstrates the past current and future Urban Growth rate of 5 continents, specifically in 3 periods (from 1970 to 1975; from 1995 to 2000 and from 2020 to 2025). Noticeably, it can be seen from the graph that the period from 1970 to 1975 witnesses the high levels of urban development in most continents, except North America.
Particularly, there was a dramatic increase in urban growth rate of Africa, which reached a peak at 5%. Latin America and Asia also have high rates, measured at 4% and 3% respectively. In contrast, the growth of urban population in Europe and North America was significant, standing at 2%. In a similar trend, the growth rates recorded in Africa, Latin America and Asia still climbed strongly from 1995 to 2000. It's predicted that the rates will slump in the period from 2020 to 2050. The rate of urban growth in Africa, Asia and Latin America will drop approximately 1%.
Besides, the recorded figure in North America will be mostly similar among 3 periods.
